A significant chapter in our hospital’s story will soon draw to a close on June 29, 2020, Dr. Jack Kitts will retire as President and CEO of The Ottawa Hospital.
Throughout his career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Kitts has led the hospital through a significant period of change. Under his leadership, Dr. Kitts has built an institution recognized globally as a leader in cutting-edge research and exceptional patient care.
He has always led by example, inspiring those who have crossed his path along the way. What Dr. Kitts leaves behind is an extraordinary legacy — a world-class healthcare system where patients are at the heart of everything we do. And this couldn’t be more evident as he wraps up his career laying the foundation for a future of healthcare not yet seen before in our city. Dr. Kitts’s vision of replacing the aging Civic Campus with a state-of-the-art hospital campus on Carling Avenue is well underway.
Dr. Kitts, to say that it has been an honour to work alongside you would be an understatement. Our community owes you a debt of gratitude for your leadership, kindness, and excellence. The caliber of care we have been able to provide our patients under your guidance is truly exceptional and something I hope you will look back on with great pride.
Congratulations on a remarkable career and a well-deserved retirement.
